It began as a showreel. In a way, it still is.
Having scattered bits and pieces of my entire career as a filmmaker over a single timeline, it soon became evident I was in for a longer ride than I originally expected. In order to edit all this diverse footage together, I needed to shape some kind of story. Or at least something that might feel like one. Something short, fast, direct and restless.
Being Greek didn’t help much either. The crisis tormenting my country could simply not be left out of anything that is supposed to reflect my own identity.
I left Greece just a couple of months before the recession officially started, when the long shadow of a “phantom menace” was already visible to anyone who was willing to see it coming. I now live and work in Amsterdam, building a new life almost from scratch. A better life, I hope.
Enjoy the show and may the force be with you.
This video is not for commercial use. All the footage originates from material I have filmed and/or directed over the past 12 years. About 90% is shot with my trusted Panasonic DVX100. Edited in Final Cut Pro and graded in Color. I do not own the rights for the music.
